Tacos for Peace began in December of 2016 as a way to make a direct impact in our community. We decided we would hold a fundraiser on the the last Tuesday of every month and donate 20% of our total dinner sales to non-profit groups working toward every aspect of peace.
Our first beneficiary was Shelter House - Iowa City and their Out of the Cold campaign. We generally choose a new non-profit every month and try to vary our efforts with regards to the organizations we highlight but every December since its inception, we have dedicated our monthly fundraising to Shelter House and their work.
This year, the last Tuesday of December falls on New Year's Eve so we've decided to hold a special Tacos for Peace on the Sunday before. We're open for brunch 10am-3pm on Sunday 12/29 and will be donating 20% of our total sales from the whole day to Shelter House. We hope you can join us as we work toward peace with strong partners in our community.
